2025 Geely Coolray: Overview

Announced for the 2025 model year, the all-new Coolray is Geely's compact SUV designed for families. Built on the BMA platform, a new chassis that emphasizes handling, performance, and comfort, Geely promises an exceptional driving experience with the Coolray. The platform also incorporates high-strength steel for enhanced protection.

Drive Train

The new Coolray is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 172 hp and 290 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, Geely claims it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and has a fuel consumption rate of 5.8 liters per 100 km.

Exterior

The front of the Coolray features a matte black grille with Geely's "energy storm" design for a sporty look. This is complemented by LED headlights with Intelligent High Beam Control, which automatically switches to low beams to avoid blinding oncoming traffic. 

At the rear, the Coolray sports a spoiler that Geely claims enhances handling and performance (though this is debatable), LED tail lights that span the full width of the powered liftgate, and dual exhaust pipes for a memorable driving experience. There's also a faux rear diffuser. 

The Coolray rides on 18-inch "Tomahawk" wheels and is available in ash, blue-red, and white colors.

Interior

The Coolray seats five, with seats covered in red and black contrast-stitched leather with heated and ventilated front seats.

LED interior lighting runs across the dashboard and can be controlled from the central entertainment system. 

The 4-way adjustable steering wheel has a flat-bottom design for a sporty feel and is wrapped with advanced anti-bacterial technology, according to Geely.

There are two LCD screens: a 10.25-inch screen for the instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch screen with a 360 Panoramic Camera for infotainment and vehicle settings. HVAC controls are managed via dedicated buttons, with the hazard switch located here as well. Below is a 15W wireless charging pad with a cooling fan to maintain temperature control. The electronic gear selector allows for selecting reverse, neutral, and drive gears, with a separate button for park.

There's a big moon roof too.

Safety/Driver Assistance

Intelligent Cruise Control: Automatically accelerates and decelerates to maintain safe distances from vehicles ahead.

Lane Keeping Assistance: Uses the front camera and Geely's driving algorithms to read road lanes. Geely does not specify if this system is active or passive.

Blind Spot Detection: Uses radar and camera technology to monitor the side and rear blind spots.

Autonomous Emergency Braking: Uses the camera and radar to detect potential collisions and alerts the driver. If the driver does not intervene, the vehicle applies the brakes to avoid or minimize the impact.

6 Airbags: Including 2 curtain airbags for side impact protection.

The 2025 Geely Coolray combines modern design, advanced technology, and robust safety features to offer a compelling option in the compact SUV market. With its efficient drivetrain, stylish exterior, and comfortable interior, it aims to provide a well-rounded driving experience for families and individuals alike.
