Cars are no longer just status symbols or pieces of luxury. For many, it is an extension of the home, as more and more time is spent in it during our commutes daily. Cars also afford greater freedom and many times is the best way to enjoy new sites and experiences.
Recognising the importance of this piece of machinery in our lives, it is important to keep it in optimal working conditions at all times for the following reasons;

Properly maintained cars operate more efficiently and within the design limits intended by the OEMs. Maintenance ensures the optimal performance of critical components, thus reducing the probability of accidents. e.g. timely replacement of brake pads will ensure adequate stopping power when a sudden stop is required.

Certain components are more vulnerable to wear and tear than other components. By regular maintenance, we ensure the function of these parts when needed e.g. turning on the wipers in sudden rainy conditions.

" A stitch in time saves nine". This applies to vehicle maintenance. Regular oil and filter changes could literally save you thousands on your engine maintenance. Dirty or burnt fluid may damage your transmission. Many times, these repair cost as much as 50% or more of the car's value. Regular checks on the fluid levels could save such repairs.

A properly maintained car will always command a higher value compared to less maintained examples. Buyers, particularly on the used markets, are more better informed and are more meticulous in car inspections. They are often quick to point out failed components or weird engine noises. Such occurrences would usually drive the car's value down during negotiation e.g. a noisy engine on cold start-up.

Ignored maintenance like simple coolant level checks can lead to overheating and damaged gaskets amongst others during prolonged use. This incurs more expenses such as an expensive remote repair job or the tow truck.
Cleaner Environment
Ensure there are no oil leaks that would leave embarrassing stains on your paved compound or elsewhere. Make sure the oil consumption levels are within safe limits to avoid smoking.
